SHAZAM receives United Way of Central Iowa LIVE UNITED Champion award

SHAZAM, Inc. received a LIVE UNITED Champion award this week at United Way of Central Iowa’s LIVE UNITED celebration. This year, SHAZAM employees made a record-breaking donation to United Way of Central Iowa, increasing SHAZAM’s overall corporate donation by nearly 10% from the previous year.
“A big part of our company culture is uniting employees with the shared goal of giving back. SHAZAM is committed to making a lasting impact in our community through our ongoing support of United Way of Central Iowa,” said Jackie Rolow, SHAZAM EVP and Chief Human Resources Officer.
LIVE UNITED Champions are organizations recognized for their outstanding contributions over the past year. Through United Way and other initiatives, these organizations have demonstrated exceptional commitment to making a lasting, positive impact in central Iowa.
“The annual LIVE UNITED event celebrates the amazing corporations, organizations, and individuals who work to foster an equitable, engaged, and empowered community here in central Iowa,” says United Way of Central Iowa President Mary Sellers. “SHAZAM is improving lives through their corporate engagement campaigns, volunteer efforts and other activities to help foster a thriving community. We are honored to recognize their extraordinary efforts to help every central Iowan not just survive, but thrive.”
SHAZAM supports all of United Way’s five elements of a thriving community with a focus on early childhood and education success. SHAZAM employees donated over 3,000 books for United Way’s annual Stuff the Bus campaign. Additionally, employees volunteered in local elementary classrooms to support United Way of Central Iowa’s Day of Action: Read to Succeed. Employees also volunteer for the Book Buddy program, build literacy kits, and serve as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa mentors throughout the year.
