Independent Bankers Association of Texas Honors SHAZAM with Five*Star Award

SHAZAM has been honored with the coveted Five*Star Award presented by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. The member-owned debit network, processor and core provider was recognized on June 27 as part of the 40th Annual Connecting Leaders Conference in Galveston, the flagship event of the IBAT Leadership Division.
Since 2002, IBAT’s Five*Star Award has recognized associate members that consistently provide excellent service and innovative solutions to help community banks grow, enhance profits and gain efficiency. To be in consideration for the Five*Star Award, an associate member must demonstrate a commitment to the community banking industry through its participation in IBAT and other industry events. IBAT member banks then vote to determine the winner in each of three tiers, which are determined by company size. Criteria used to determine the winners included service excellence, human relationships, integrity, commitment to the community banking industry and exceptional value to the banks they serve.
SHAZAM, the original innovator in debit card transaction processing, has grown into a leading force in the payments industry. Serving financial institutions, fintechs and corporate entities across the U.S., SHAZAM enables efficient and secure movement of money across the nation’s payment rail systems. As a member-owned, independent provider for nearly 50 years, the company reinvests profits into the development of the products and services its clients rely on daily. With rapid advancements in the payments landscape over the past decade, SHAZAM remains at the forefront of real-time money movement technology.
SHAZAM has a long history of service and contributions to the financial industry in Texas. The organization has been an IBAT associate member for over 25 years. “We are honored to receive the Five*Star Award,” said Aaron McGregor, SHAZAM VP, Sales. “It’s an important reminder of our partnership with IBAT and our shared philosophy of being devoted to strengthening independent community banks.”
“IBAT’s Five*Star Award winners are outstanding examples of the true spirit of community banking and the ongoing commitment to strengthening this great industry,” said Christopher Williston, IBAT President and Chief Executive Officer. "They provide invaluable counsel and support to Texas community banks as they work to deliver exceptional service to their customers. We are proud to celebrate these companies who help make the IBAT family great.”
