DES MOINES, Iowa (Feb 24, 2021) — SHAZAM, Inc., a nationwide provider of financial services to community financial institutions, has selected Coopera to enhance the company’s efforts around diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). SHAZAM chose Coopera, in part because of the company’s work with community financial institutions in the Midwest assisting, crafting and implementing new DEI strategies.

The partnership between SHAZAM and Coopera will focus on building plans for integrating diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives into SHAZAM’s everyday business practices. Coopera’s intimate knowledge of the financial services industry, and its specific inclusion needs, will help SHAZAM continue in its commitment to inclusive hiring and outreach practices, strong community partnerships through a spirit of service, employee inclusion and a culture of continuous learning.

“DEI is so important to the future growth, relevance and success of community financial institutions all over the country,” said Victor Miguel Corro, Coopera CEO.  “We need to explore what belonging means and how to achieve it. All aspects of business, from recruitment and hiring, training and professional development, and more, plays a role in fostering an environment and culture that is inclusive to all.”

“SHAZAM believes the diversity of ideas, backgrounds and perspectives makes our company stronger,” said Jackie Rolow, SHAZAM’s Chief HR Officer. “The work we are undertaking with Coopera doesn’t have a list of goals to check off and complete, it’s an ongoing journey toward higher ideals that help SHAZAM serve its employees and members.”

Coopera’s extensive network of financial institution partners, and strong understanding of their diversity, equity and inclusion needs, will also help SHAZAM maintain its position as the trusted partner, enhancing how we strengthen our community financial institutions through products and services that reflect their short and long-term strategies.
