
Vacation
Even the most dedicated employees need time away from work. SHAZAM encourages employees to take advantage of its vacation plan. During your first year with SHAZAM, you will receive a pro-rated amount of vacation time. After one year, you will receive two weeks of vacation time. One additional day is credited each year thereafter, up to three weeks total. You will receive four weeks of vacation after 10 years of service.
Holidays/Floating Holidays
In addition to vacation time, you receive up to 10 holidays per calendar year. These are in the form of corporate holidays where the company is closed (i.e.; Labor Day) or floating holidays.
Sick Leave
Employees are credited with four hours of sick leave each month up to a maximum of 480 hours. You can use sick leave for yourself or to take care of family members.
Sick Leave Conversion
On December 31 of each year, we calculate 3% of the current sick balance for employees with 50-479 hours of sick leave and convert that amount to vacation for the following year. For employees at the cap (480 hours) on December 31, we will calculate 5% of their current sick leave balance and convert that amount to vacation for the following year.
This amount is added to your vacation balance and deducted from your sick leave balance. The less
sick time you use, the greater your balance will be, and therefore the greater amount of hours you can
convert to vacation.
